OQ Compliance Programs
Based on Federal Regulatory Standards
The program content is based on American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) B31Q and American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 1161 standards, with reference to and in compliance of Department of Transportation 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 192 and 195. These programs are designed to be used in conjunction with an operator’s policies and procedures to ensure applicability with its operating characteristics, procedures, and equipment.

As federal regulatory changes occur, the ITS Learning Content & Development team updates the program components as needed, including code language, learning content, written exams, and performance evaluation criteria. This ensures your OQ program stays current and adheres to PHMSA regulations, providing peace of mind of that your workers are receiving accurate information and training.
Program Components
Each of the ITS packaged OQ Compliance Programs includes the following components:
- Standard OQ tasks (including potential AOCs)
- Computer-based training modules
- Written exams
- Performance evaluation criteria
The Enhanced OQ 192 Compliance Program includes 190+ each of the above program components, while the Enhanced OQ 195 Compliance Program includes 110+ each of the above program components.
