Since our inception, ITS has worked to maintain safe work environments by staying ahead of regulatory compliance.

What started with one university professor focused on the real-life applications of his industrial training coursework in Kentucky has grown into a specialized technology and services company providing Operator Qualification and compliance services to the energy industry across the country. When Dr. Paul Lyons began a partnership with members of the Kentucky Gas Association to address their regulatory compliance needs, it was a time of pencil-and-paper testing and filing cabinets full of documentation.

While we may have traded pencils for keyboards and filing cabinets for data storage, the processes we use with our clients have not changed. As Dr. Lyons retired and transitioned ownership of the company to ITS Chair of the Board Susan Sammons, she continued to focus on listening to client needs and delivering tools to keep them compliant and safe. Susan has been there since the beginning, and she continues to pass her entrepreneurial spirit on to her children as they lead the next steps for ITS.

As President/CEO, Stephanie S. Balmer remains committed to that vision of continuous improvement. Asking our partners for tangible feedback and then acting upon it is a daily standard at ITS.

Today, ITS continues to grow and is an industry leader with more than 35 years of experience providing Operator Qualification and compliance services and support to the natural gas, propane, and other energy industries.

ITS is led by a dynamic leadership team and supported by nearly 100 talented and dedicated team members in Kentucky and nationwide. Many of the country’s largest natural gas and energy companies trust ITS to provide quality, reliable, and efficient compliance solutions to keep their operations running safely.
